Did you know that your arrest record is public? Yep, it sure is. Anybody and everybody can look you up if they wanted to. If you want you can actually do the same, if you have the time and the money.
A public arrest record will show the world who was arrested, for what, and who the victim was, as well as when the crime was committed. For example, it would show that Bob Jones was arrested for assaulting Tom Smith by slapping him in a nightclub on December 23, 1976. If the record is old enough that the person went to court, then things could sticky. If they are found to be not guilty, they can have the records sealed up, and when asked if they’ve ever been arrested, they can say ‘no’ without legal repercussions.
