What Are The Different Types Of Patents?

The different types of patents are provisional patents, utility patents, plant patents and design patents.

Provisional Patents (PP)

A provisional patent application (PPA) allows filing without a formal patent claim. It establishes a filing date for you.

So, if you have an idea, and if you do not have the time and resources needed for filing a patent, you can go for a provisional patent. This will establish your date of application.
Beware though - the actual patent should not differ significantly from the provisional patent description.

Searching For The True Number Of Identity Theft Victims In The Us May Include Your Children

This year research companies Javelin and Gartner did not agree with the FTC’s reported number of identity theft victims in the US during 2006. Gartner topped out at 15 million and Javelin claimed identity theft was diminishing. The reports made by consumer to the FTC were in between.

No matter what the illusive real number is, a few things come to mind these three expert groups might agree on in regard to factually measuring the victims and affects of the identity theft crisis:

The first is what is called a synthetic identity, where parts of your information such as your social security number is mixed with another persons name at an unrelated address.

Fire Safety Systems Save Lives Only If Kept In Good Order

As members of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) we are all aware of the devastation a fire can cause. The human loss, the financial loss and despair it wreaks on those involved is immeasurable. Our overriding responsibility as fire code inspectors, fire and smoke damper inspectors, building owners, and facility managers is prevention and protection.

One of the best ways to protect a large building or facility from the deadly spread of fire is the installation, inspection and maintenance of smoke and fire dampers, sprinkler systems and smoke alarms. Unfortunately, with the exception of hospitals, which have smoke and fire damper inspection enforced by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and other regulatory agencies, many facilities do not inspect their dampers every four years as required by NFPA 90A.

Grandparent Dna Testing To Establish Family Relationship

Apart from DNA paternity tests, DNA tests may also be used to establish other family relationships, such as that of a child’s grandparents. In this article we are going to look at the subject of grandparent DNA tests, how they are done and what it involves.

A grandparent DNA test helps to confirm the relationship between a child and an alleged grandparent. This test is based on the fact that a child receives half its DNA from each parent and that parent in turn receives half its DNA from each of its parents. A portion of the grandparents DNA is therefore passed on to the child and it is this which can be tested to prove whether a child really is a grandchild or not.

Hovercraft Regulations

Hovercraft are largely regulated according to the environment they operate in. For example, a hovercraft operating over land is considered an off-road vehicle.

Over water, your craft will be considered to be a boat.

Most vehicles are required to be insured (whether as a boat or an off-road vehicle, or both). Here, we will briefly address these three issues.

Land Operation

Usually off-road vehicles cannot be operated on public roadways. In certain municipalities, some regulations for ATVs apply.

The ATV operating restrictions and equipment requirements may also apply to hovercraft depending on local area legislation. You may need headlights (and sometimes tail lights) to operate near public roadways (or after dark).

What Is A Creative Commons License And Can I Use It?

The creative commons license was developed by Creative Commons, a non-profit organization that was implemented for the purpose of gathering creative work that others can build on and share.

A creative commons license allows those who hold copyrights to grant some of those rights to the public, while retaining other rights.

This was originally done because current copyright laws prohibit changing copyrighted information. This enables you to use work that has a creative commons license, but if you plan to sell a product, a creative commons license isn’t really what you want to use.
